PATH TO GLORY 40K TOURNAMENT
RESULTS SEPTEMBER 8, 2007
The Path to Glory Game Club held a 40K tournament on Saturday September 8, 2007 at the
Jersey Shore Hobby Center on Highway 35 in Sea Girt, New Jersey. The tournament consisted
of three rounds of 1750 point armies. The Game master preset all terrain. There was a $10
entry fee and it was used for gift certificate prizes.
The first round matched good forces against evil. We started with only seven players,
so the game master had to take a borrowed army to round out the competition to eight. The
first round was the Scouting Engagement Mission.
When the first round ended, another player, Danny arrived after finishing his high
school team sport activities. He took over the game master position of only 9 points. This
placed him in a three-way tie from being one point away from last.
The second mission was Hostage. Players with the highest scores were matched with the
next highest. Thus winners played winners and losers played losers. This tightened the
point standings.
We took a break after the second round for quick BBQ of hot dogs and hamburgers grilled
by the game master. We held our monthly club meeting while he chowed down and then it was
back to the last round. The Mission was Cleanse.
When the dust settled, the scores were close. Final points were:
John C. Eldar 56 Danny Imp. Gd. 55 Quite a comeback Soltan Flesh Tearers 53 Alex C.
Ultra Marines 52 Lou Imp. Gd. 48 John S. Imp. Gd. 40 Charvel Blood Angels 33 Alex L. Chaos
Krone 26
The prizes were awarded $40 for first, $20 for second and $10 each for third and
fourth. The club had received a box of 40k metal orcs from Joe. He won them at the Chicago
GT. The box was used as a door prize. The 4 players who did not win were eligible. Charvel
won.
All the players had a great time. No won quit or complained. No disputes or rule
arguments. Thanks to all who played. Those that missed it, make sure you play in the next
one.

MULTI-PLAYER GAME

THE PATH TO GLORY CLUB
Saturday May 5, 2007
Jersey Shore Hobby Center
The Path to Glory gaming club hosted a multi-player Flames of War game Saturday May
5, 2007 from noon and ending no later than 6:00 pm. The club and its members supplied all
figures and scenery. The game accommodated many players.
The battle was fought on a tabletop measuring 4 feet wide by 16 feet long. The battle
was an East front confrontation using the late war (Festung Europa) rules. The situation
came right out of the pages of history. A German Grenadier company, along with numerous
wounded and medical personnel, have been cut off and encircled by the rapidly advancing
Russian army. They are defending in a remote Russian village. Army Group South has patched
together the remnants of a Panzer division to breakthrough the Russian lines and rescue
the encircled forces.
The Russians had a Soviet Tank Army and a Rifle Army swarming around the village and
further west. They are committed to the elimination of this last pocket of German
invaders.
Each turn new units appear on board as each side races to achieve its objective.
The Game ended with both side achieveing a Minor Victroy.
