1500 Point After Action Reports (AARs) Players:
Richard M.J. Jarosz (Guard Cossacks) vs.Allen
Kaplan (Soviet Guard Infantry) The Table: A small village with a creek running all over the board!? And some standing crops but a pretty much open battlefield. The Plan: Send the Pioneers to dig in around the objectives and hold off his T-34s with my SU-152s. The Actual Battle: His massive infantry Company was the one sent against the objectieve on a flank march. My Pioneers were just out numbered! The T-34s overran a couple of my cossack units and the mounter troops again proved useless. Lessons Learned: Get a bigger stick! My Penal Battalion will have 40 stands in one company/platoon if I put all the attachmetn in it....Hum we will definately try this..... Players:
Richard M.J. Jarosz (Guard Cossacks) vs.Allen
Kaplan (Soviet Guard Infantry) The Table: Winter! and open a few frozen marshes and three small villages with the Infantry gratefully occupied.. The Plan: Bum rush him flanking him with the large combined mounted platoon. The Actual Battle: Forgot about his ambushing T-34s! The SU-152s held them at bay destroying one and bailing a few others here and there. But their MGs made short work of my horses and Pioneers on that flank. The other two Mounted Platoons contacted his other flank but just could not carry through with a breakthrough. You may be asking about my Katushas? Somewhere is a Tractor Factory with a lot of holes in its broadside!!!!!!!!!!!! Lessons Learned: Snow will slow up horses as they can not "Move at the Double" in rough terrain. Snow is rough terrain!? |
